My Big Boy

Our little precious baby boy is now what he calls himself a "Big Boy." "I not a baby anymore Momma, I am big boy." Although he still likes me to sometimes hold him like a baby.

This past weekend we celebrated his 3rd Birthday. He wasted a basketball theme so I thought we would go ahead and just do a sports theme. We are not big basketball people. I even tried to steer him away from having a basketball party, but no he was persistent. ha. My husband and friends know who I like to throw parties. My husband just stands back and lets me do all the work. (I like it that way)

Here are the invites I made for his party.

His Birthday Cake...he loved it (I only had one candle lol)

This is his teacher Mrs. E-ah (Maria) he wanted her to hold her while we sang Happy Birthday! He loves her! (it is so sad, because on Monday he will move out of her room and into a new teacher's room, it is sad on all ends!)

And lastly the Birthday Boy acting silly, he didn't want to take this picture lol.

It is amazing on how much he has changed. His little face is thinning out, his feet are getting bigger and he is getting hair on his legs. Before I know it our 3 year old will be a teenager! I cherish every moment I get to cuddle with him and all the lizards kisses he gives me and all the I love yous!

Christmas in July

Well over at Craftaholics Anonymous we had Christmas in July, who doesn't love gifts? You are lying if you say you don't! We had to make something for someone we didn't know. I couldn't wait to send my gift off and I couldn't wait to receive my gift. When I got my gift in the mail I was ecstatic I couldn't open it quick enough. When I pulled my gift out, I thought these pieces are so unique! It will add flare to any outfit I wear! I can add a charm to it or just leave it like it is. Living in Texas you need BIG BLING Charms! ha!

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the bracelet that came with it, sorry. Thank you to Erica for making me these wonderful pieces!

Walking

Keep walking with Me along the path I have chosen for you. Your desire to live close to Me is a delight to My heart. I could instantly grant you the spiritual riches you desire, but that not My way for you. Together we will forge a pathway up the high mountain. The journey is arduous at times, and you are weak. Someday you will dance light footed on the high peaks; but for now, your walk is often plodding and heavy. All I require of you is to take the next step, clinging to My hand for strength and direction. Though the path is difficult and the scenery dull at the moment, there are sparkling surprises just around the bend. Stay on the path I have selected for you. It is truly the path of Life.

Psalm 37:23-24; Psalm 16:11;

What you mean

I thank God everyday of my life for sending me this special Friend, I have prayed and prayed for a Godly Friend and my prayers have been answered. Low and behold after we have compared notes, this friend of mine prayed for a Godly Friend also. It is a match made in Heaven! We are the best of buds. When she is down I am right there to pick her up and when I am down she is right there to pick me up! I honestly don't know where I would be without her.
I know God takes people out of your life and puts better people in your life to take there spot, but I didn't know at what magnitude. Wow! Anytime I need her she is always there and vise verse.
She loves her some "baby" Easton, even though he tells her all the time, I not a baby, I a boy. He loves to hid from her when she comes over and scare her. When she is around Momma and Daddy can't do anything it is always Aut Anna turn! Here is Easton with his Aut Anna, he is saying cheese lol!

Thank you Anna for being the friend you are, and thank you God for placing Anna in my life!

Never say Never

Before I became a parent I would always say my kid is not going to do this or my kid will not be allowed to do that. Well until you become that parent of that special child, whom might I add, all children are different. What you said you would never do, you sometimes slip and do it.

When my son started potty training, we never used an object as a reward. We would always do the happy dance and jump and around shaking our hands. Well that worked, but it didn't. So then we used money. Thanks to Pops there was a draw full of pennies, that worked, but then it didn't. So then we used stickers and a chart when he would fill the chart up he would get a small toy. That worked for a while and then again it lost it's excitement. So now, mind you I always said I would never give my kid a toy for going on the potty. But we haven't lost our patience yet...but we are just ready for him to be completely potty trained. He will do good for a couple of days and then it is like he gets tired to sitting on the potty ha. So yesterday was a BIG day for him, he went poop on the potty at school (never done it before at school, home yes, school, no). So when I went to pick him up he was super excited and ran to me and said Momma I pee pee, I mean poop poop on the potty! So after I praised him and high fived him we went to Toys R Us and he got his drum he has been wanting!

He was super excited, can you tell lol

If this method continues to work...we are going to be broke, because he already saw a guitar that he wants.

Any Day

Sorry I have been away for awhile, but I have been super busy. I promise I will write more! Today I am linking up with Mckmama on her Not Me Mondays!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I look at my baby, whom some days wants to be a baby and some days, wants to be a big boy. Wow how they grow up fast. He is becoming more independent and can play by himself. He even has a girlfriend.

But he still loves his momma and I wouldn't trade these mornings for anything. I would be late everyday for some cuddle time with my baby. This morning he wanted ME to come and lay with him, not his Daddy. He put one arm around my neck and held my hand with the other. I told him I had 5 mins, and he whispered ok...we laid there and I tried to get up, but he wasn't having it. He grabbed me and pulled me back down. So this is how we laid...I would never come into work late for some cuddle time with my baby...NOPE NOT ME!

Yeehaw

It is that time again, for the Nope Not me from McKMama, where I can be PROUD of my not so good, mothering skills, wifely (is that even a word?)skills, and cleaning skills.

The South Fair is going on here where we live. We headed out there Thursday night so Easton could ride some rides and we could taste some good food. We wanted to go and watch the rodeo but by time we got there it was over. So Friday night we decided that we would take Easton back to watch the Yeehaws (horses). Well being that we are Catholic and it is Lent we can't have meat on Friday's. So we set out to find us some food. Then we came across this not so pretty vendor, (those are usually the best), and they had Shrimp and Crawfish Eggrolls...they were killer, I did not let my self have 3 because that would mean that I ate a ton of calories, Nope Not Me!

After I indulged myself in some food and the rodeo, we headed back to where they had live music, they were playing Zydeco and Easton wanted to dance. So we headed out to the dance floor, he could cut-a-rug. He was having a blast so we didn't let him stay up till 10:00 which is past his bedtime, Nope Not Us. We know that small kids need plenty of rest.

Oh it was so pretty outside this weekend. When it is pretty outside, my husband hates it, because that means we are in the yard working, I can't sit still. So while the sun was shining on Sunday we didn't take a 2 hour nap, Nope Not Us, because we were trying to get our tan on!

Addicted

Oh how I LOVE Easter Time!!! Because that means it is Spring Time. The birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and the sun is shineing. Oh and lets all not forget the pollen is falling, so much for a clean car. But what I really love are:

Light Bulb!

I am so super excited to be a part of Transformation Thursday over at The Shabby Chic Cottage!!! I have been waiting to be a part of the transformation for awhile, but I didn't really have anything to transform or I forgot to take pictures, not this time!!! While the Hubs and I were cleaning the garage out, which you can read about it here. The hubs and I came across our old dining room table. We have had it in our garage since we moved in which was a year half ago. We were going to throw the whole thing away. But then I thought you know the table part I could sand that down and make a small table for our back patio so lets keep it. But the legs on the other hand I can't do anything with. Until a light bulb went off in my head!!!

Here is the base to the table, turn upside down of course.

I popped the base part off using my rubber mallet.

I then cut the wood into two different sections, so it would be easier to handle. I think measured from the center of the cylinder 4 inches so it would create my base. I also cut the spindle thing off the top. This was the first time I used a Miter Saw, I was really nervous. But once I made my first cut, I felt strong!

I glued the circle things back on to the cylinder. I then found some white color paint from our paint stash.

I then got my Ralph Lauren Glaze that was shown to me by the Shanty2Chic Sisters, I have fallen in LOVE with this stuff. You just paint it on and then wipe it off. The more you wipe the more that comes off. This stuff is awesome.

I then distressed this little puppy.

I decided they were looking a little plan so I add some jute and a bracket.

I think they look super cute. I love those light bulb moments!!!

Spring Time

Here recently my Hubs and I decided, you know Spring time is coming and we really need to clean out our garage, you know de-clutter. So we set out one day to get the job done. When we got done the Hubs and I looked up and just laughed. We think we had more things scattered across the yard then in the garage (well not really).

Easton will carry the EMPTY gas can around to fill up his lawn mowers and his 4-wheelers

Why someone thought it would be a good idea to put empty water jugs in the ditch, I don't know.
Then what do you know, look who we found:

Who Me?

Welcome, welcome all you folks to the "Not Me Monday!" Not Me was created by MckMama, go on over to her site to see what everyone else is saying!!!

I did not let Easton have Pringles Cheddar Cheese chips for breakfast this morning, I only believe in letting him eat nutritious meals. We don't have any type of junk food in my house, Nope Not ME!

I am totally a night person, we have friends over all the time and sometimes we play games, sometimes we just sit and talk, and sometimes we get engrossed in reality TV. I never fall asleep on my guest, Nope Not ME!

I am so on top of my laundry it isn't funny. I am telling you as soon as that washer dings, I transfer all the clothes to the dryer, then I am impatiently waiting for the dryer to get finished so I can fold those clothes. Cause I would never put about 2 weeks worth of clothes on the bed in the spare room, Nope Not ME!

So what have you done that you "didn't do" this week?? Lets here it! Don't be ashamed we all have baggage, we are all not perfect!
