When my son started potty training, we never used an object as a reward. We would always do the happy dance and jump and around shaking our hands. Well that worked, but it didn't. So then we used money. Thanks to Pops there was a draw full of pennies, that worked, but then it didn't. So then we used stickers and a chart when he would fill the chart up he would get a small toy. That worked for a while and then again it lost it's excitement. So now, mind you I always said I would never give my kid a toy for going on the potty. But we haven't lost our patience yet...but we are just ready for him to be completely potty trained. He will do good for a couple of days and then it is like he gets tired to sitting on the potty ha. So yesterday was a BIG day for him, he went poop on the potty at school (never done it before at school, home yes, school, no). So when I went to pick him up he was super excited and ran to me and said Momma I pee pee, I mean poop poop on the potty! So after I praised him and high fived him we went to Toys R Us and he got his drum he has been wanting!

He was super excited, can you tell lol
If this method continues to work...we are going to be broke, because he already saw a guitar that he wants.
